The crescent shaped island with a slightly pink beach in the middle of the sea is a perfect scenic spot to time some quality time to relax, take a walk on the soft sand, soak of the sun, or do some snorkeling. The best time to visit Taka Makassar is during low tide so you can see more of the island.  The island is surrounding by shallow water so bigger boats are not able to get near the island and tourist can usually take a smaller boat or they can actually swim to the island if the boat can get close enough.  If you are just wanting to swim around the island, you can do this as well. The water is very clear and because of the shallow depth the water has a stunning light blue color.  Taka Makassar is also an extremely popular place for people to take those perfect selfies because of it’s stunning beauty.

Taka Makassar Point.
Taka Makassar Point are more popularity known as Manta Point is a very famous place for snorkelling and diving to see Manta Rays.  Take Makassar Point/Manta Point is known as the longest reef in the entire area so Komodo National Park.  The area usually has a medium current and usually attracts manta rays in large numbers, especially during the rainy season.  Manta Point is also a huge attraction for for tourists.  There are not many places in the world where you can snorkel or scuba dive with giant mantas and see them so close.  This area is filled with Plankton, which attracts the Manta Rays to come to this area for feeding and cleaning. This experience is something that many people remember for the rest of their lives.  Having a close encounter with these graceful Manta Rays is truly a unique are rememberable experience.  Another great thing about Manta point is that you do not have to dive very deep to get the full experience.  Many divers choose to stay between 3-10 meters.  As far as snorkelling you can still get an incredible manta viewing just by snorkelling on top of the water.  Obviously seeing Manta Rays in not a guarantee on every trip there but it is incredibly common to see them especially during the rainy season.
