Visiting the famous Pink Beach is something every traveler that comes to Komodo National Park should do. Pink Beach as know in Native language as Pantai Merah is an absolutely stunning site to see and makes for some of the best photos you may every put in your photo album. The sand is pink because it is caused by Foraminifera, which is a microorganism that produces the “pinkish” color pigment on the coral reef. As these very small broken coral reef pieces get washed up to the shore, it mixes with the sand and create a pink color. Pink Beach (Pantai Merah_ is one of only less than ten beaches like this in the world. Photographers come to this area from all around the world to attempt to get that perfect photo that truly capture the beauty of the this majestic place. The beach is in Komodo National Park and there are no stores, shops, restaurants, or toilets.
